CURRENT POSITION:

  • Sr. Data Analyst, New York University School of Medicine, New York, New York - February 2016 to Present
    • Cleaned and geocoded over 110 million addresses from New York’s Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System (SPARCS) database for the years 2008 through 2014 with Python and R
    • Created data visualization and statistics of spatial & non-spatial epidemiological data using python scripts and R for studies funded by a federal ASPR grant concerned with the effects of Hurricane Sandy on cardiac patients
    • Created interactive map mockups using HTML, CSS, and Javascript for population health research initiatives.
    • Assists faculty with map production and spatial statistical analyses of spatial database information; provides technical support to train and assist collaborating researchers in new and existing GIS applications.

  • GIS Technician, City of Norfolk’s Real Estate Assessor’s Office, Norfolk, Virginia - December 2013 – Present
    • Conducted data analysis on land values (using SQL, MS Access, & Pandas Python module) and researched deed and mortgage issues involving tax delinquent parcels for the City of Norfolk Treasurer.
    • Provided mapping, research, and logistical support for consulting projects requiring City of Norfolk Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) data and produced high quality cartographic materials for City of Norfolk
    • Improved the integration of CAMA data and GIS through the creation of custom tools using the Arcpy Python module to automate and streamline the geocoding real estate sales and creation of data and reports.
    • Created data visualizations of Real Estate Data using python scripts.
  • GIS Intern, Pennyrile Development District, Hopkinsville, Kentucky - October 2013 - December 2013
    • Analyzed and mapped census data for environmental justice studies for KyDOT Highway proposals

    • Performed spatial analysis on the crime data on the University of Alabama campus
    • Conducted the exploratory data analysis using spatial statistics on the spatial distribution of foreclosures in the aftermath of the April 27th, 2011 in Tuscaloosa.
    • Managed and improved the Alabamamaps.ua.edu website including the posting of the new content and the creation of interactive maps using ArcServer and ArcGIS Flex API.
